Curious as to a consensus if there is one of what rivet gun builders liked for their build. There are so many options and also some seem bigger than others which I am assuming may not be great for tight areas. But I guess I could always use a hand held in those areas. I have an array of M18 Milwaukee tools, but there rivet gun is around $700-$800 which I don't think I want to spend. I rather spend it on mods for the roadster. LOL

Thank you in advance

Christopher, I must first confess to being a tool junky. I have 3 H-F pneumatic riveters. One for 3/16th and 2 for the 1/8th rivets. I ground down the nose of one to fit in tight spots. Spent less than $250 for all three, and declined the warranty. Also have a manual puller but needed it infrequently. Then again, I was going to build an aircraft when I started my roadster. HTH Andy

H-F has several flavors of pneumatic rivet guns ($50 and up) that many find work OK. I have a Campbell Hausfeld pneumatic gun that I've done several builds with. Was around $100 and works fine. But I'm now using the Milwaukee M12 gun that I like a lot. Nice not dragging around an air hose. The battery charge lasts a long time. It's had no issues pulling even HD 3/16" rivets. Like the SS ones I used on the firewall on my truck build. It's the one I'd recommend the highest. But isn't the cheapest. Way less than the $700-$800 you cited though. All of these have changeable tips. You'll have the 1/8" one in most of the time. Occasionally switching to the 3/16". Pretty easy to do.

Then there's just pulling them by hand. Lots of people swear by that too.

I was thinking of giving this one a go. It has good reviews and is very cheap

My favorite and most used tool for the build was a Milwaukee Cordless Rivet gun. For me it was definitely worth the additional cost.

Same here. I got mine for quite a bit less, in fact Northern tool has them for $199 without battery.

This is the one I used; But I added a swivel air hose connector which allowed for better hose positioning. Used it for 99% of the build. Also I had to change out the heads throughout the build to fit the different sized rivets, but that just takes a matter of seconds to change out. I did have to use a handheld manual rivet gun with a swivel head for just a few rivets in tight places.

You will imediately take the tail piece off because it just gets in the way. Just make sure you get a flexible swivel bridle so you air line doesnt keep you from getting into the tight corners. I loved my air riveter. I used a lot of 3/16 rivets inmy build and the Air riveter saved the day.

This is exactly what I've been using with the swivel connector and it's been amazing, so easy to use that even my 5 year old has done some riveting for me! OP, do you have a small compressor? If not, this becomes mute.

definitely pneumatic air riveter if you already have an air compressor - if not do the milwaukee cordless (https://amzn.to/3H0sjYZ) as stated above

They will work very well on a small pancake compressor if you don't have a large compressor in your shop.

Wow!!! I wish Makita would make one at that price point. The only one I found on their website was over $1k!!! Insane.
