After years of wishful thinking and months of actual planning, finally ordered a MKIV roadster. The folks at FFR were great and a big thanks to Brian Z. who walked me through the order process.

Excited about joining the FFR community and getting started on my project.

First officialy question...... I like the classic look of the 15" Halibrand replica wheels but was warned that the supply/choices in 15" tires was pretty thin. I still have time to change my order from 15" to 17" wheels but hoping I can find a source for the proper size 15" tires. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help on this and all the future questions.

Thanks. Great to hear there is still a supply of 15" tires out there.

From searching on the forum, looks like the recommended 15" tires sizes are

F 235/60 - 15
R 275/50 - 15

Put these sizes in Tire Rack search engine and came up with 0 matches. Are there other sizes that fit as well as these?

Like I've said to all newcomers...anything you need. This is an experience you will never forget. I never get tired of people looking at my car and saying, "I've always wanted one of these"! To them I just tell them to just do it.

I also just ordered mine with 15" and changed mine to the 17" rims as I searched and didn't like the 15" tires. You can find them but not many brands to chose from.

All,

Many thanks for your feedback and encouragement. Completed a three year restoration/conversion on an 1967 MGB GT earlier this year so looking forward to another "project". Getting started by repainting the garage bay this weekend....................."baby is on the way"!!!!

My delivery is scheduled for the first week in December so looks like Christmas will be coming a little early this year!!

Congratulations!

I built this car with Cooper Cobras; 235/60-15 front and 295/50-15 rear.

Firestone and Mickey Thompson also have these sizes. Yes, there are more choices and a much higher level of performance available with 17".

Congratulations and thanks for the support. I am at work here this morning wading thru SEMA catch-up stuff as I've been doing all week. I run 15's on my 427 FE powered car that is in my garage right now. I tried BF Goodrich Radial T/A's for many years and they rank similar to the Coopers and I think, same sizes. Recently Ive fallen in love with the drag T/A's but they wear out super fast..

Off to finish cleaning out the garage!
