I'd like to read your experiences since buying a GTM, or any other kit for that matter. Since getting my car in August, some very cool
and interesting things have happened.

I've suddenly become the coolest kid on the block, and have been approached by strangers/friends/acquaintances from far and wide to
be a part of this project. Aside from the questions and inquiries from forum messages and threads, neighbours that have never approached
me finally show up at my driveway to say hello. One guy from the a few houses down brought his five year old son to get a closer look.

Cars slow down and sometimes stop in front of the house and watch me working away. Two weeks ago, a landscaping company quite
literally slammed on the brakes and backed up with his window down to ask about the brand of car.

One of the forum members contacted me to ask about checking head clearance as he wanted to purchase a kit. We talked for about 20
minutes and exchanged info. When I get the car to "karting stage", I said I'd give him a call.

My former CEO viewed my car on Facebook and wants to check out the GTM. He seemed very curious and hinted that I might build a car
for him (wow). The man certainly has the funds to back-up his talk, and his current ride is no joke.

For the past five weeks, a purchaser for a large electronics manufacturer has been brainstorming about selling modified GTM's in China.
We've had two meetings so far, and he seems to think there is a market for this car. Unfortunatetly this idea is turning sour quickly,
and does not seem very feesible. He was talking big numbers to fund this project, and big goals but it's all just a dream it appears.

Anyway, that's just a taste of stories I can share. This car has, and will continue to change my life. I'm very fortunate and lucky to
have purchased this kit and become a part of such a great online community. The best is yet to come when I meet more of you and
attend car shows. My goal is driving the GTM down to FF head-quaters to meet the gang and participate in one of the cruises/shows.

All of this, and the car is 30% done sitting in my garage. I can't imagine what's in store once the vehicle hits the road.

Please share your crazy stories. I'd love to read them.

Here are a few stories that others have shared along the way. I agree with you; the GTM is a serious game changer. Lambo's and Ferrari's are really cool when you see them. But if you throw a GTM in the mix, the crowds almost always seem to migrate towards the GTM. Gary Cheney had one of his GTM's at SEMA a couple of years ago, sitting in the Forgestar booth. (I think it was the Gold one). It was surrounded by some of the top level super-cars of the time. And as he said; for ever person who stopped to look at the Lamborghini or Ferrari, there were 4 or 5 who stopped to look at the GTM.

Recently, I was a the "Cars and Coffee" car show in Charlotte. There was a Pearl White (Balloon White) Lamborghini Murcielago that was just unbelievable. I took a couple of pictures of the car, focusing on the rear hatch. I was talking to my wife about how the Lambo uses staggered layers of poly-carbonate, (instead of a solid glass enclosure), that leaves the engine bay "open", and allows the heat to dissipate quickly. I mentioned to her, that at some point, I'd like to re-work the GTM hatch in a similar way. As soon as I said it, there was a guy standing behind me that asked "if he heard me correctly, that I was building a GTM". I told him that I was, and almost immediately the focus left this beautiful Lamborghini, and to the GTM. I soon found out that he is building a FFR Roadster, and is also a huge fan of the GTM. He is Steven K. on the forum, and he's now another new friend that I wouldn't have met had it not been for Factory Five and the GTM.

It's really just a beautiful design, and you can't help but stare at it with your mouth hanging open...

If you haven't read through the attached thread, you should some spend a little time with it. There are some cool stories in there.

Have fun with the build! You're going to love it!

My driveway has gained a lot of attention. It began when I started Karting, but has increased 3-fold since the body went on and it looks like a finished car from a distance. I've also become a student of the C5 Can bus and vehicle systems.

However the best items so far are meeting and becoming friends with Keith, Thomas and Michael. Along with many others that I have yet to meet.

Keith played a huge role in my decision to bring this madness into my garage. He has been kind enough to bring his GTM out on multiple occasions for me. He answered all 2742 of my questions and took me for a spirited cruise. He even brought his GTM over to the hotel so my wife could meet him and see it while we were on an extended week end stay-cation.

Michael and I made a connection after being in the first group of Gen2 builders. We regularly work through issues together and exchange thoughts and Ideas. I now live in Central Florida and he stopped by while he was down with his family.

Tom. Most will know him as Thomas#142 or the Guy that makes the full side scoops or the Guy that makes the lower profile quarter window scoops or the Guy that has amazing fg/composite skills. I now know him as a good friend.

So the GTM has given my driveway lots of attention, forced me to become a student of the C5 Can bus and vehicle systems and allowed me to make some new friends.
