Hey gang,

Just got to scratching an itch I didn't know existed.

Only found out about the FFR MKIV about a month ago and have already created two build sheets. Had my mind/heart set on another 911, but really feel these cars have more soul and the builder's identity in them.

This year I've help build my buddy's dream Scout II with a 5.8 Gen IV LS motor from the ground up (just drove cross country), currently building two motorcycles, built/own an offroad G55 (Gwagon), built up/own another AMG Sedan, Built numerous Land Rovers (sold), and a couple engine swapped Supras (sold).... all in my spare time.

This won't be my first dive into a hands on project, but can already tell there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum and numerous people who share their experiences on YouTube.

Being in the film/advertising industry I've moved a bit. 13yrs in NYC, 3 in LA, now a year into Seattle and looking to move back to LA.

Looking forward to learning, sharing and meeting some of you folks during this journey.

The wife has already given me the thumbs up, and she loves when I can zen out from the film space while wrenching.

Below is just some of the wrenching and trips from the last 6 months.

I know this won't be a sprint, looking forward to the marathon.

Welcome to the forum and Seattle!

The time to get a Roadster is fairly long so I'd suggest thinking of ordering sooner rather than later if you decide. Or look for a kit that was started but never finished for sale.

You've got me interested in the BMW moto in the picture. Any more details or a build thread elsewhere?

you've come to the right place. Plenty of knowledge from members here. I was a newbie when I started my MK4 and have learned tons on this forum and the other. Given your background, I doubt you'll have any issues getting this kit together w/ multiple mods.

I'm a New York native and I also used to live in NYC. I have lived in the Los Angeles area for 20 years. I also very much love the Pacific Northwest, although I've only been there twice.

If you are a car guy, I would highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Los Angeles as a place to live. You said you work in the film/advertising industry and I personally know many others that do as well, so I'll assume you can afford a lifestyle that will for the most part allow you to avoid and/or not be annoyed about the negative sides of Los Angeles - all of which are getting worse.

In short, overall I think the area is still worth it. There are year-round events for cars and all sorts of outdoor activities. Bring your flip-flops!

Love LA. I've filmed there a ton, and lived in Beachwood Canyon + Los Feliz, currently house shopping in the Silver Lake area, but now w this build coming to light, I am adding the need for a two car garage, plus a driveway.. which is adding a zero to the listing price of everything I am looking at :).

Re: buying the kit and wait time, I will likely be pulling the trigger early January as I am looking to land a new house that will accommodate space for the build, def don't want to outgrow a new house the second pallets of parts start to arrive.

Just like the LS swapped Scout II, I am looking for modern convenience and reliability, so already sourcing a few companies for the Coyote Gen 2 or Gen 3. Really don't need a ton of power as this will be a cruiser.

I do miss Cars and Coffee events at the Disney Ferris wheel in Griffith Park, so very much looking to get back into the car culture.

Below is my last BMW K75 build, sold it last January just before the pandemic.

This one will be similar (Tank , seat and bellypan) but w BMW s1000RR USD forks and a slew of other goodies.

Just like any production, I know this will go over time and budget...

My main goal is to set a creative / functional starting point and finish the car as close to that original vision as possible.
