Hi All,

I'm new to the forum after having recently aquired a built type 65 coupe. I was at SEMA last week and stopped by and chatted with Karen for awhile. Learned a lot, thanks for your time, Karen! I am taking your advice and getting active on the forum! My car was built several years ago, and while it is super cool and lots of fun it needs some love. To date I have sorted the suspension ride height, alignment (both ends, it is IRS), body mounting, bump steer, built a dead pedal, cleaned up the wiring and linkages. I still have a long list of things to do but the current project is a cold air intake. As you guys probably know, since the cooling fan pushes air out the hood extractor, the engine sits in a hot box with no real air movement unless you're moving quickly. Obviously the engine is injesting heated air unless you have a hood scoop. Even then, the scoop will be pulling in the warm air moving over the hood from the extractor. So, my plan is build a plenum and draw air low from in front of the engine. My car has an eight stack injection system thus complicating the air box fabrication. The mock-up is done and I'm waiting for the finished sheetmetal pieces back from my shop. I'll post up some pictures later and let you know how it works. In the meantime here's a couple of shots of my car.

Jeff, welcome to the forum!

That's quite a coupe you've got there! I'd love to see you enter that open hood shot in the monthly Picture Of the Month (POM) contest. We hand out a $100 gift certificate to Factory Five for every model:
