This car was originally built by Gary Cheney. I purchased the car from another party through an eBay auction in the fall of 2007. The car was briefly raced in the West Coast NASA Challenge series prior to the rules change that allowed for the TrickFlow top end kit. Once the rules change went in to place, I removed the old engine and purchased a short block and I then installed the TrickFlow top end kit that I purchased from Summit Racing, per the rules. I’m an amateur / hack mechanic at best, so I’m not fully confident of the engine build / install. I had a local shop install the rods, rockers, and set the value timing, but that is the only pro work that was done on the car after the engine install. The engine runs rough, and I noticed a miss at high revs when driving it some time ago. After running the car for a few minutes, you may notice what I think is a high pitched whistle that comes from using an after market throttle body. If you buy this car, you’re getting a PROJECT and not a turn key racer. Unfortunately for me, it is time to clear out my garage and get the car into someones hands who will enjoy the car in the future. Given that, I’m selling the car at a very attractive price - $10,000. It’s a great looking bright orange car. If interested, send me a private message and I’ll send you a link with pics and some videos of the car with the engine running. Thank you for your interest.

THE CAR IS BEING SOLD “AS IS”.

THIS CAR IS NOT STREET LEGAL AND IS NOT REGISTERED.

You’ll need to bring a trailer. The car is located in San Rafael, California.

The Trickflow whistle on mine only happens at low idle. I kinda like it :-).. Tho I get asked at stop lights all the time if the car is supercharged. I guess the whistle noise can be interpreted that way.. It goes away the moment the engine is doing anything other than idle for the most part. A faint whistle can be heard when you stomp on the gas while accelerating, but you'd have to really be listening for it as it's is 99.99999% drowned out by the exhaust noise. There are some posts around about how to make the whistle stop if desired.

Mine has been made street legal. I intend to do SCCA/Autox with it but no NASA/fender to fender racing. It's primary driving fun is on the street tho. I've had it a month now and already put about 1400 miles on it.

Good luck with the sale! Love the color!

I think it's only fair that I get first shot at it :D Seeing the previous owners were all foster parents until I got out of rehab!
