So I am looking at switching to EFI on my 427W since I have had NONSTOP carb and drivability problems. My question is this: I have the Edelbrock Victor Jr intake manifold. It has two coolant ports. A 3/8 NPT and a 1/2 NPT. The 3/8 NPT currently houses the sender for my mechanical water temperature gauge and the 1/2 NPT currently houses the supply line for my heater core. Obviously, with EFI I want the coolant temperature sensor right in the intake manifold. My cylinder heads do not have a fitting for this (AFR Renegades). So, is there a place I can move my heater core supply line or I am relegated to a tee fitting to share the mechanical water temperature gauge with?

Can you put one on top of the thermostat housing? Might need to be drilled and tapped

That would be the easiest but I have an FE style expansion tank. If I went that route it with me and changing out that expansion tank and I probably have 600 bucks into that.

could you put your mechanical water temp sender in the radiator and the EFI sender in the intake?
you could also put a T in the bung for your heater hose, but would need to put in a "H" shaped bypass to allow for constant coolant flow.

You can buy thermostat housings that come with an integral 3/8" threaded hole. Or you could use a Cobraearl style right angle adapter, it also has one.

He doesn't have a thermostat housing, he has a degas tank

You can get a bypass heater control valve, like these from EBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/154295842808 and mount your temperature gauge sender in a T in one of the ports and your EFI sensor in the other. The other option is to get a bypass unit that allows a small amount of coolant to recirculate to the water pump regardless of the normal heater valve setting. I made my own. Here is a picture of my hose routing. The bypass unit is the aluminum block next to the Sniper that both heater hoses connect through.
