Unfortunately due to the fact that we're still dealing with COVID many of the overseas exhibitors will not be attending and in fact some of the big US exhibitors have pulled out (Holley, Speedway Motors and the like). Last week Dave Smith contacted me and the other pro-builders/customers who were going to be working the show with FFR and told us that he actually considered pulling out as well but instead decided to scale back their presence. They'll be there but only with Dave, Jim and Jesper rather that the dozen or so of us as was initially planned. He mentioned that they may move from inside the big hall and set up outside near the Ford Out Front drift ring so you might not find them where your map shows.

Thanks for the reply. They're at the top of my list to go find so I bet we'll meet up. I'll be double masking and I'm hoping that it will be a low transmission event.

If they do move outside that means I can drive over and see them out there, since I dont have a way to get a badge any more.

You still need a badge to get to the outside exhibits. They have that place sewed up tight.

While I work at a major auto parts company, I go under my brother in laws autobody business. If you know ANYONE in the automotive/parts/service business it really isn't a lot to get credentialed. Basically you need either a work ID (easily created) or a business card (easily created) and a copy of their tax document. Once again, not telling anyone to commit any misrepresentation, but I could go under my employers name, but if I do I really get pestered because they see who I work for and think I can get their parts in the stores.
I find it easiest if the vendors look at my badge and see nothing more than employee.

Oh that sucks, before Covid I would go walk around the front and see the drift arena and all the displays and cars outside.

Interesting, Two years ago, you could walk around any of the outside with out badges! Can they stop people in the hotel there from going outside to go the monorail? Not that they couldn’t, just would be a headache to in force!

I agree that outside has never required a badge. There are so many points of entry it would be difficult to enforce badging out there. The guards at entry points for the buildings were only concerned with the black light image on the badge and I don't think they even looked at the name or occupation.

Dave Smith announced that he's pulled out of SEMA this year.
