What is the difference between the MK 3 and MK 4 hood hinges? According to the FFR website, the Mk 3 hinges won't work on the MK 4. Is there any modification that can be done so they will fit or do I have to trade them in?

Mk3 hinges will not work on the Mk4. The Mk4 hinges will work on an Mk3 or Mk4. The plates that mount to the "G" bracket on the frame are slotted more on the Mk4 hinges. You might not be able to slot the Mk3 hinge holes enough to use on an Mk4.

Thanks Brian. Would FFR consider exchanging them if I pay the shipping both ways? They are brand new, just opened the
box on the weekend.

FFR will only swap out parts that we can resell. We currently only offer the Mk4 hood hinge and we would not be able to resell the Mk3 hinges. You may be able to sell the Mk3 hinge on the forum.

Did you order an Mk4 kit and get an Mk3 hinge with it?

Thanks for the info Brian. I bought the hinges a few years ago in anticipation of the second build, not knowing that I would be building a MK 4. I guess I will try the MK 3 hinges and see if I can make them work. If they don't, I will order a set of the new ones.
