Like many lurked here for ages.. Mostly dreaming and often scheming ways to get my wife to agree that purchasing a roaster was a good idea. She was a hard sell, very against a "kit car", "built car", "what ever it is" she would call it. She wanted a 60's era Thunderbird or 50's era Corvette and other similar cars. We already had a 1960 Austin Healey 3000 that we sold a few years ago and we also have a 1966 GT-350 Shelby Mustang that is now a garage queen as it's worth too much to drive.. I got her on the, "I don't want another rare classic that we don't drive because it's ***too*** whatever to drive and have fun." The FFR Roadster is perfect for this! Something not crazy expensive, built out of modern easy to replace parts and fun as hell.
Long story short, she finally gave in. Both of us also enjoy SCCA/Autocross racing and we bought a MK3 Challenge Car. We bought the #1 car that I've seen countless videos of. Originally driven by Carl Thompson and sometimes by John George. Mostly, I've seen this car chasing John George around the track in his #48 car. It was great fun doing research on the car and finding all the racing videos. It was also great to get the full racing log book! It's our intent to keep racing the car even though we've made it street legal. :-) Slapped some headlights and a windshield on it and viola! Passed inspection! So, now looking for other owners around my area (Southern New Hampshire). Trying to maximize driving around time during the Fall weather and before the snows come!
