Not sure if you guys caught the Facebook update from Dave Smith yesterday, so I figured I would share.

Looks like they are only building 10 GTM kits for 2022 and they are all spoken for. Dave also noted they are not taking 2023 orders. Not that the GTM is completely dead, but they are simply not taking any orders. If you want on the standby list incase one of these 10 builders backs out, you should reach out to FF.

Sad to hear, but understandable, with the development of the F9, and the GTM being somewhat misunderstood.

IMHO:

Have to remember the importance of the GTM to the development of Factory Five Racing as a company, being their first attempt to produce a car that was not a replica, but an in house design. That's not an easy feat for any company, let alone a small one.

Too bad development resources and sales were not there to refine this car, but I like to think that what was learned from the GTM is carried on to their other product lines.

Well said Ron.

Finally posted some pics in the Finished GTM Pictures section a few days ago. Thanks for all your help and assistance with it.

i am working on the assumption that this will be a value enhancer for those of us who have completed GTM's (and those who soon will be in that group). Now, whether we will be able to get parts for them from FFR (like windshields).........

If I remeber correctly the windsheild actually fits a stock Jaguar sedan. Not sure which model but at least a few years ago it was readily available from glass suppliers.

I wonder if other kits may be affected ?

I would be interested in the model/year of Jaguar. I had heard that a GT40 windshield worked but the issue is which version of the many GT40's and replicas. The GT40 folks have looked for windshields and the last I saw on posts they found that the GTM did not work on their particular version of that car (not sure which version).

1st I've heard of this Jaguar windshield in 15 years of FFR forums...don't get your hopes up

I think that the Jaguar windshield was used for the Daytona Coupe ?

I happen to know that FFR has enough windshields to last at least a few years. I spoke with Dave Smith directly about this. There may be an issue with windshields at some point, but not something to worry about right now.

And I too have never, EVER heard anything about a Jag windshield fitting. If it was that easy, I am sure FFR would avoid the cost of having custom runs of windshields done.

Anyone know what the final production number will be? It would be very interesting, and a good detail to have on the forum as to what the last frame number is. Maybe FFR can post this once it is known?

I’m not sure Dave has made the decision to kill GTM production outright just yet, only that 10 will be made next year.

Unless I’ve missed another notification on the matter since he did the FB Live post on the 10 for 2022.
