I am going to install high back seats in my MKII. Which seats are the best and that have some padding in them for long drives?

I copied others and went to Intatrim. Their seats are pretty good IMO and fit well in the cobra. I have the Stoneleigh with a red cobra logo and heated. They also make them compatible with 5 harness.

Your body size will matter when you go shopping for these seats. I swapped out my old seats for the Kirkey high back seats. I'm under 6 ft, and under 200 lbs. A few in the 220 and up have tried to sit in them and fit but aren't as comfortable. I did adjust the passenger seat to accommodate larger thighs and waist by simply spreading the seat wings. Since they are aluminum and the cover is removable (and replaceable) this is not too difficult to achieve. For me there is plenty of padding, especially in the seat bottom. If you want more padding it's not hard to add padding anywhere you want, but it will reduce the waist size fit. On the other cobra site MauiKarl had a thread on the Sparcos Grid Q seat. It appears he was able to make that work with some minor modifications. It looks like a nice seat, perhaps at a higher price though.

Hey Steve, I'm thinking along the same lines. I'm working on building some roll bar mounted head rests. I think Kathy can cover them and maybe embroidery something on the front. Might even incorporate a third brake light into them.

I really like my Corbeau FX1 pro seats, super comfortable for a highly bolstered seat I can easily sit in them for several hours straight. But this is so subjective, the only way to know for sure that a seat is comfortable for you is to go sit in them. Also high back seats all vary in the shoulder belt opening location so you really have to sit in them to make sure theyre even the right dimensions to be safe for you.

Anyone have pictures of them in the car? I'm going down the process of thinking of ordering a kit. Been down this road a dozen times over the past fifteen years or so and always wuss out due to time constraints. The support of a real seat like these is definitely more appealing to me.

Thanks

I have the Clubman seats from Cobra seats in the UK. They’re basically the better version of the Sportsman seat FFR used a few years back. I’m a pretty big guy and have 85k miles on them in my roadster.

Here's some pictures of the Cobra Clubman seats in my car. I like that they say Cobra on them!

I use the Classic-CS from Cobra Seats. It's pretty much the same as FFR uses, but with a removable headrest. https://www.cobraseats.com/seats.html?pid=30&cid=2

I'm also planning on going high back. Is anyone installing a seat adjuster with their high back seat? I think Summit had an option.

Also Redone585 what exact size/model Kirkey seat did you use? I just want to make sure it will fit as I remember there were lots of options.

I'm loving all the options in this thread! The Classic-CS will look traditional but with the headrest. Seems Factory Five would offer this as an option?

Do you guys usually go to local shops to check seat fit or just hope it fits after ordering?

Hey Blitz - did you have to do anything special to mount these Cobra Monaco Pro seats? I like the look...Looking for a high-back option to replace the leather low-backs I got with my kit.

Funny you should ask. I was just out in the garage working out how I was going to mount them. I am using these seat brackets. I was told not to mount them permanently until after body and paint. Makes sense as the body may shift and they block the body from coming off. I plan to mount them then remove them before paint. I’ll update my build thread once I figure it out.
