Does anyone happen to know if the Wilwood "GS Compact Remote Master Cylinder (https://www.wilwood.com/MasterCylinders/MasterCylinderList?group=GS%20Compact%20Remote%20M aster%20Cylinder)" is considered a direct replacement for the "Compact Remote Reservoir Master Cylinder (https://www.wilwood.com/Search/PartNoSearch?q=Compact%20Remote%20Reservoir%20Mast er%20Cyli)"?

At first I couldn't find the normal compact unit on Wilwood's site, only the GS unit, so I assumed the GS unit was a replacement for the compact unit. I did more searching though and eventually did find it on their site. I bent the pushrod on one of the Wilwood MCs and ordered a replacement tonight, but now I'm worried that the GS unit won't be a direct replacement. Has anyone run into this?

Regarding bending the pushrod, I'm not sure exactly what happened; it happened today after I replaced my front PBR brakes with Wilwood 6 pistons and was out stomping on the pedal testing them out. I have a feeling that the balance bar was not properly installed and it resulted in a sideways load on the pushrod. I wound up having to cut it with an angle grinder to get it off. Afterward I noticed the MC looked red and muddy or rusty where the pushrod sits. I'm assuming that's not normal. This car was finished back in 2015 but sat outside up until a few weeks ago, so some things are a little more "weathered" than you'd expect.

FYI spoke with Levy Racing, GS Compact is a direct replacement for the original compact. The only significant difference I see is the pushrod stroke is 1.25” not 1.4”. I imagine this will impact how far the pushrods get threaded into the balance bar, and possibly the pedal return stop as well.
