Ok calling all dash aficionados, I'm looking for dash ideas.
I'm weighing all available options on gauge lay out, switches, material or any other cool option.
Please post your pics!

Capt B,
One of the coolest and extremely serviceable dash layouts was on 65 Cobra Dude's "Wild Blue Wonder" MK-4.
Henry R. configured things so that he could service all of his switches and gauges with ease.
My regret was not meeting Henry before my dash wiring was completed.
Check it out on the video below:

That car had so much stuff crammed in it that it blew my mind.
Coyote Engine, Heat, AC, Oval Piped Under Car Exhaust, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Custom Roll Bars, Stereo & Premium Soft Top!
Good Luck!
Steve
CaptB - Have you seen the modular dash from one of our vendors?

If I were to do it again, I'd likely use one of these.

153673153672I am not finished as yet, but I am building a custom modular dash and console. Using zebra wood veneer over carbon fiber. Also a custom made glove box 3/4 in deep so I can keep the heater behind it. You can see the progress below.

Lots of folks use 3M's 1080 wrap film to cover their dash. It's a great product that's very easy to work with. However, it needs time to "cure"; if you install your switches immediately after applying the wrap, you're very likely to knick it. If you go the 1080 route, I recommend you (1) spray paint the dash the same color as the wrap so that if you do knick it the mistake won't be obvious, and (2) wait a week or three before populating the dash.
Also, if you cut your own holes, be advised that the turn signal indicators are a slightly different diameter than the high beam indicator. I learned this hard lesson after finding out the green lamps were slightly loose in the holes.

153682. Just finishing up this new SC dash for Mark Burger. The hole on the left is for ignition and the one on the right is for the headlight switch. He originally had a street dash but decided to switch to SC.

Went with the FFR CF dash and standard layout. Very happy with it. I think FFR hit this out of the park.
