Hey Everyone,
I placed an order for a complete kit in June and at that time my projected delivery was to be the end of December. I'm going to assume it'll probably be pushed out a bit which is fine but I'm wondering if I should try to order items not coming from FFR to avoid more waiting when I have the kit in hand. I saw the thread about the halbrand wheel delays and all I can think about how many times that's going to happen as manufacturing and supplies dwindle into next year. Some things in my opinion don't make sense to order at all till I can start building like the motor, trans, and anything I'm not sure I need yet (adjustable seat brackets). I ordered everything from FFR that I might POSSIBLY use with the kit as I saw the shortages getting worse. I thought it would be easier to offload than it would be to try to find the parts if I did decided to get them later. Does anyone have any opinions on my possible pre-purchases or omissions below?

FFR main part items already on order:
complete kit
coyote headers with cats
IRS
diamond stitched interior
coyote power steering
IRS center and spindles
wilwood brake kits
carbon fiber dash

Things maybe I should order now?:
breeze enhancements (hood hinges, fan shroud, dash support, power steering brackets)
wilwood electric parking brake kit
russ thompson turn signal kit
guard dog pbs1 ignition
exhaust shields
wheel well liners

I slowly collected nearly all those items you talked about including my GasnGo pipes. The one thing about the RT turn signal is that he needs a specific part to do his work so even though I got my kit last week I'm still waiting for the steering part (POL) that he needs. Just make sure you only order those things you know will absolutely fit.

I would preach caution. I pre purchased couple thousand dollars worth of stuff I will never use. As I got into the build I changed directions and found I needed different stuff. Nothing wrong with getting ahead mind you. If you absolutely know your going to need it (ie coyote control pack) and there is a long lead time definitely pull the trigger. There is other stuff I wish I had waited a bit.

RT was lightning quick getting my turn signal back to me so I wouldn't worry too much about that...sent my steering boss and had a complete unit returned in less than 2 weeks! Might be worth an email just to make sure he isn't having the same supply issues though. I can also say that Breeze was really quick with delivery....no sense adding parts to the pile where they may get lost or broken. I pre-ordered a bunch of stuff that I wanted and now all I can do is look at the parts sitting on the shelf. Once my POL shrinks that will change but for now that's how it is. Think carefully about it....only pre-order the DEFINITE add ons that are a sure thing (everybody changes their mind occasionally) or would be difficult to do post build. For example: I almost preordered the breeze cubby but decided to fab my own with all the spare time I have waiting for POL items...so glad I didn't order it...save $$$ where you can!

Breeze will ship fast and all of his stuff is top notch.
order all together to save on overall shipping.
Here are the things I got from him
-radiator shroud
-upper radiator mount
-lower radiator mount (tried to cobble together my own, but found out I was spending almost as much as his kit. if you have extra materials laying around and have some fabbing skills, might be overall cheaper)
-lower radiator tube bracket/support
-adjustable seat mounts
-front battery box
-offset steering rack bushings
-cobra engraved shifter knob (discontinued)

there are definitely things that you can find/fab cheaper, but all of his products are plug and play and well constructed.

Also, if you need to get other things from Jegs/Summit, try to consolidate orders as much as possible. I probably spent way too much in shipping costs.

I got my engine knowing that I have to rebuild it next year, then order the kit, hoping for Spring 2023

I ordered my engine and trans from BPE before I ordered my kit and I stared at it for about a month before my kit came. Was really nice having it there beside my kit ready to install when I was ready. As for other things I wish I would have waited to order quite a few things from some of the venders. as an example I thought I wanted a cubby and ordered the cubby kit from Breeze. Then decided against it later on after getting to that point and deciding to go a different direction. Just one example. I wish I would have waited to order until I had the kit in hand and really decided my direction. This is just my experience.

The supply chain & distribution network problems makes this a difficult question right now. On one hand you don’t want to have too much delay, waiting for parts in your build. On the other hand, as well as you think you plan your part needs, you buy parts too early and you will have items that need returned or exchanged and you’re outside of return windows.

I bought many parts only to later change my mind or find that I needed something different. This was particularly true on the engine (I built one instead of buying turnkey). A good handful of items I’m stuck with.

The good news is that if you get something you don't use or want, this is a pretty good place to sell it. I routinely see leftover sales pop up and stuff seems to go pretty quick.
