Has anyone looked into or actually tried rubber seals for your hood, trunk and/or doors? I'm particularly interested in the doors. I have a Mark 1 and when inside either the driver or passenger side I can see daylight through the front edges of the doors. I've adjusted the doors the best that I can although the door sizes are not a perfect match to the body.
The trunk is also sitting below the seams and it seems like a correct thickness rubber seal would make it sit flush to the body and prevent any rubbing on rough roads (they're all rough in spots!).
I did not build this car so fitment was done by someone else. It is painted and I would rather not dive into any extensive refitting/fiberglass work at this time. I just want to tinker and enjoy driving it as much as possible. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Yep. This is exactly what you need:

For the doors, I put the D seals on both the body and door. For the hood and trunk, just on the body is fine.

Cool! That is exactly what I was looking for. Funny thing is I order from McMaster almost everyday for work and breezeautomotive has the better price. (The link mentions McMaster). Thank you for the quick response!

TMartinLVNV, I don’t suppose you have any advice/tricks for installing the D seals around the corners? Did you cut pie shapes out or maybe use a heat gun to get the material to stretch around the radii? Thanks again for the link. They delivered in less than a week.
Any pics you’d be willing to share?

It's soft rubber, it just bends around the door shape

Mcmaster prices for a lot of materials have been absolutely bonkers lately

The weather stripping easily goes around the corners just with hand manipulation. No external heat or pie cuts necessary. The tightest corner is the 110° corner at the rear edges of the hood. The weather stripping does not kink even there. You don't need pictures to know where to put the weather stripping. You are building a car, you got this.
