So I recently picked up a just built gen3 and it’s great but it was not really dialed in by the builder so I’m getting to do that part! Well, all the pedals were much too heavy. Gas brake and clutch all terrible no feel and almost scary on the brakes. So I re routed gas pedal cab,e and made it much better but it’s still not great. Maybe there’s a lower friction cable? Next the clutch, I read the oem cable is nicer and wow I can confirm. Soooo much lighter apply pressure it’s perfect love it. So the brakes are my next thing to tackle. I tried ordering some more aggressive pads but they came and didn’t fit. So I’m looking to do a bigger upgrade. Want more pistons and bigger diameter rotors. What’s the best budget friendlyish option to get there? Saw some kits for 3800$ which is a little high for now

You can upgrade the fronts to 94-94 Mustang Cobra. They are 2 piston calipers with a 13 inch rotor. can be bought on Rock auto for under $500. direct bolt on. What rear suspension do you have?

Excellent that sounds like a good start. The rear is a Ford 8.8 straight axle with triangulated 4 link and factory five coil overs.

I’d kinda like to step up to 4 piston calipers in front.

There is a ton that can be done and updated or upgraded. First maybe you can let us know what part of country your in because there may be someone experienced close to you that can help. next is you don't need to spend $3800 on brakes but spending $2400-$2600 may go a long way to making the car better for a lifetime without cutting corners.

Cheers thanks a lot. I’m in the PNW, which is sort of a custom car desert. Well I ordered a front only kit that includes 13” rotors and 4 pot wilwood calipers. So hopefully this will cure my issues entirely but I may need to bring up the rears next if they don’t seem in balance.

You would have been better off doing the rears first and addressing the possible master cylinder and proportioning changes.

Huh interesting. I’d just assumed the fronts were the problem. Why do you think rears are first?

Car is 60% rear weight biased

If you look at the last line of my signature you will see I know just a little about these cars.

Wow I guess so! Well shoot, I guess I’ll stick with these fronts because they look like good stoppers and nice to look at, but what should I look at for similar upgrade to rear then?
