Ordered my complete kit a week ago, and for those who might be on the fence, DO IT, the lead times for completion is 7 months. Mine won't be ready to ship until April 9th. Not bashing FF5 in any way, they are a victim of the world situation just like everyone else, but if your excited about building one, I'm sure the lead times aren't going down for awhile, so you might want to get your name in there as soon as you can.

Just a little PSA!!

You're right, if anyone is thinking about ordering a kit, they should get their order in. I ordered mine at the end of August and have a build date of March 5th. I am running into the same thing with everything I order anymore. Ordered a control pack for my Gen 3 Coyote and have to wait for Ford Performance to get their chips for them.

If you missed Dave's latest video, he goes into the issue of parts pretty deeply.

Heck, just drive my an auto dealership and you see empty lots because part and computer chips are in such short supply.

ABSOLUTELY! Do not wait if you don't have to....I ordered Feb 24 and had my kit (minus a long POL list) on July 16. Sounds like the lead times are getting longer and longer. The sooner you get in the queue the sooner you can get started...even with a long POL list I still have stayed busy on the build. I have also noticed that a few started builds have come up for sale recently so that is another option.

I am so glad I ordered when I did. I saw this junk show coming down the pipe and knew I would be better served ordering sooner rather than later. So glad I did it :)

Crazy times.. I couldn't remember what it was like 'before' so I looked it up. I placed my order Feb 20, 2017 and was told "the next available completion date we have is Saturday, March 25, 2017". Dang, I feel for you guys.

I thought 8 weeks last year was an eternity to me, but in the scheme of things today it was like instant gratification. Like the old "NIKE" ads said "JUST DO IT" you won't regret it.

I ordered my Roadster kit on April 12, 2021. Eric from Stewart Transport delivered it THIS MORNING!! Needless to say I am stoked to get rolling. From what I have heard, the complete kit comes with about 21 to 25 boxes depending on your specific order. I got 14 boxes this morning so I’m looking at around 8 or nine boxes of back ordered parts. I’ll start the inventory in the next few days and that will tell the whole story.

I too am glad I ordered it when I did because it sucks waiting around after you’ve pulled the trigger. I haven’t watched Dave Smith’s latest vid regarding parts yet but as many have stated, it’s not his fault. To be sure, it’s costing FFR a boatload of money to ship the stuff as they get it so the pain is widespread.

On another note, Peter from Nisonger Instruments called me yesterday with especially bad news from his end. He said that the remnants of the hurricane dumped a ton of rain on them and he ended up with 6 feet of water in his shop which effectively destroyed just about everything he had in there, including my Smiths Speedo that was backordered. He had boxes of inventory that hadn’t yet been opened that were floating around in the shop. He was apologizing profusely about the delay as though he had something to do about the weather. I told him not to worry about it and that it wasn’t a big deal for me being as the kit hasn’t even been started yet but nonetheless he was upset about the delays. Man, I felt bad for him.

But, I get to start building which is a good thing for me anyway. Take care all in these uncertain times…..Greg

I ordered my 289 kit 8/2/21 and got a 2/5/22 ECD. It is frustrating, but at least I have some time to get my garage and tools in order prior to arrival.
