Here are a few photos of the engine I just finished building under the watchful eye of a friend who knows way more about these things that I do. It started life as a '94 SVT Cobra 5.0, but after the one-thing-led-to-another scenario played out, it's now a 347 that will be fed by a Holley 650 dp carb. It has forged Scat internals, 10.5:1 compression, and a Ford Motorsports "F" cam. All I kept from the original motor are the head and block castings, as well as the SVT/Crane 1.7 ratio roller rockers. The front dress is old-school with a mechanical fuel pump, a timing cover mounted dipstick, v-belt pulleys, and a CW rotation waterpump with drivers side inlet. The oil pan is a Canton 7 qt. road race pan with their own pickup, but the oil pump is standard Ford Motorsports in volume and pressure. To keep the old-school theme going, we did a bunch of work on the heads to make them flow better, but they are still the main compromise on the engine. Even so, it's expected to make in the area of 400 on both HP and torque once we get it on the dyno for tuning. All that's left now is to figure out how I want to do the alternator and the original Ford degas tank from a big block. In final form, the big-block valve covers will be accented by a turkey pan and S&H airfilter assembly.
