I have 3200 miles on my truck now and having a blast with it .
My first issue arrived a couple weeks ago after I drive it hard on several S curves with high banks and about a quarter tank of gas in it . After my fun driving I stopped and filled up with gas. Leaving the gas station my fuel gauge did not move at all. Couple days ago I removed the bed floor and stainless sheet which I don’t think I’m going to reinstall this time just the smoky road bed kit .
I removed the fuel sending unit to find the float fell off it. The center of the float is foam which deteriated and caused it to fail. I was able to fish out the float without removing the tank.
My question is I know it’s a mustang gas tank but which years is it ?
Or what’s a good fuel sender replacement for the truck tank ?
Thanks. Rob

Sorry to hear that. But cool you're having fun with your truck. That's just a standard Fox body tank with a OE configuration sender. Any parts store or most online sources should be able to cross to the appropriate unit. Quick check and the ones I saw had plastic floats. That's what I recall installing in mine. But now thinking of looking. Good luck.

Thank you Paul. Yea it’s a plastic oval float, black in color with foam in the middle that the lever slides thru .
