I am in the process of registering my purchased Mark I in the state of Wisconsin and I have a question about the year designation. The WI dmv asked me to provide a brief description of the replica along with the Title from the state where it was registered after completion. On the current title it’s called a 2013 Assembled Roadster so the replica info is not included. WI wants that same information to transfer the title along with a description of what it is: I.e. FFR Mark I Roadster 196? Cobra Replica. Do I use 1965 or 1967? I’m not sure which designation the Mark I’s used.
To make this even more interesting my insurance policy listed it as a 1967 even though I didn’t specify the year. I just want to do this right the first time so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day!

Not sure about WI but in VA I am registered as a 1965 Factory Five Roadster if that helps.

If you have the option to go with 1965 do it. It may not be applicable to you now but in states with emissions regulations earlier sometimes gets an exemption. If you ever sell that may be beneficial to potential purchasers in those states.

That’s something I hadn’t thought of. I was born in 67 so that appealed to me but I will go with 1965 if possible. Thank for the feedback!

FWIW - California has some of (if not the most) strict emissions laws in the country and in CA anything 1976 or older is exempt from emissions regulations so I don't think registering your car as a 1965 vs 1967 is going to matter from an emissions standpoint but no harm in going for the older year to be safe if possible.

The FFR MCO states that the car is a "1965 replica."
