First off thanks for the Help
Here's my starting point:
I bought a smashed '16 Mustang GT
Plan to salvage everything possible for the build, engine, trans, rear end, rear brakes and....
The car came with no keys, so I have to do something to get the ECM to work
Dealer had the car 3 days and couldn't make keys
Now I'm looking at buying a Ford performance control pack M-6017-504V which comes with an unlocked ECM and a bunch of other stuff
The list of stuff in the control pack sound very similar to to the Coyote installation kit 16863
Does anyone know exactly what is included in 16863?
I don't mind paying for something I need but don't want end up with 2 of everything
Or somebody has a better solution...
Thanks
Dave

Have you looked at the Holley TerminatorX?

Very little if any crossover between the Ford Performance M-6017-504V control pack and the Factory Five 16863 Coyote installation kit. The control pack has the harness, ECM, PDB, DBW, etc. All needed to make the engine run with the crate motor setup. The installation kit is a 1-1/2 page list of parts for installation. Some minor, e.g. various nuts, bolts, terminals, clamps, etc. Some more important, like the engine mounts spacers (pretty much mandatory), PCM mount, fuse box (PDB) mount, clutch switch mount, accelerator pedal mount, heater bypass components, vacuum fittings, etc. I do think the price is a bit high for what it is to be honest. But would probably recommend it unless you're ready to fabricate some it yourself.

i.e. - Have you or someone else put a TerminatorX in one of these cars with a Coyote? Most seem to put the standard Ford Control pack, but the self-learning seems to be a major advantage. Possibly cutting out the need to go to a tuner. If you have put one in, what has your experience been and what all was necessary besides the Terminator package to get it running? Just as an example it looks like the Holley system doesn't include a DBW pedal, whereas the Ford system does.
Sorry to hijack your thread Dave, but I thought you may be interested too since your vintage of Coyote is supported by Holley.

The Holley system may cater more to the take-out engine crowd, don't know. I've used quite a few Holley EFI systems. We're doing a rewire/rebuild of a Mk3 with a 2004 4.6 DOHC setup. This car originally used an undieted stock Mustang harness and was poorly installed. When looking for a plug and play system to replace it we found the Holley Terminator setup. We are still in the process of wiring the car right now. I can tell you the available options for the Holley system put the stock Ford Control Pack system to shame. The Holley supports a wide variety of fuel injectors, boost options for both super chargers and turbo setup and nitrous injection as well. It also has a self learning ECU, not perfect, but will usually keep most first time tuners out of trouble. We're not going the boost or nitrous route but it does give you options. As far as the DBW throttle pedal, they are available from both Ford and the aftermarket so I don't see what the problem would be.

I saw a tv show where they put a truck Coyote in a early Mustang and used a Power by the Hour kit. Maybe something to check out.
good luck,

No worries on the hijack, I didn't know the TerminatorX existed, so this is all a learning experience on this end
