I had been thinking about Steve on Friday when I ran up to Banner Elk for Cajun food and mtb riding. On the drive home I caught the news about the upgrade to the storm. This one looks really bad. God be with all of you and please let us know you are ok in its aftermath.

We moved to higher ground.
It's getting breezy, so we're just playing the waiting game.
It looks like it will be a Strong 4 possibly a Low 5 at landfall.
Grand Isle is in the Bull's Eye.
Thanks for thinking about us.

The FFR family in LA and MS are in our prayers. Now that I think of it NY and NJ too. I’m sure you guys have more than enough on your plate right now but when you get a chance check in and let us know you are ok.

Hello Boys:

https://youtu.be/PirVtiJuvDs

We've got a lot to clean up and some structural damage, but all is well considering it was a strong Cat-4.
The floodwaters were NOT as bad as Katrina, but the winds were much, much stronger.
We only had 29" of water under the house compared to 84" back in 2005.
Power came online yesterday, and the internet late last night.
Several of my neighbor's houses need some serious repairs.

Good to hear you came through it, Steve. Hope the damage isn't too bad and you're able to get back to normal soon.

Power restoration is the biggest issue to getting back to normal.
Shown below is the path and classification categories as Ida moved inland.

We are fortunate to have power so soon because Katrina had us out of power from August 29th until October 26th.
Strong slow-moving systems really pack a punch.

Hey Steve glad you made it through the storm in somewhat decent shape. We just got electric and internet today. Had some roof damage with water leaks but fared pretty well. Hope you have things back to normal in short order.

We hope to retrieve Redbone sometime next week.
Still doing a lot of clean-up, but thankfully we didn't get the brunt of the storm.
The car has been stored at my pal Jerry's shop, next to his Daytona, since a day or two before Ida paid us a visit.
