Hello to the group. Spindles came in finally and when double-checking the manual it says to torque to 220 foot pounds. Seems like a lot of pressure on the bearings. Can anyone confirm for me?

That's what it is. I seem to recall more like 250. But whatever the manual says. It doesn't put undo pressure on the bearings. You'll find they spin freely. You're probably thinking of the old school type bearings where you repack and tighten to where they're tight and smooth and pin the nut with a cotter key. These are permanently lubricated bearings made differently.

Pretty sure there’s a spacer in the hub that butts against the inner races of the inside/outside bearing. We actually used non locking nuts as we were removing the hub a lot. The locking nuts have a crimped collar that starts stripping the threads on the stub axle.

You got nuts already ? My spindles came in last week but still no sign of hub nuts...
