I am fine tuning the Edelbrock 600 carb on my recently acquired MKII , The car is running rich , Anyway I started by changing springs on the metering rods and having done this before the carb was not reacting as expected ,, So I started looking at other things and I found a compressed piece of tubing stuffed in the positive crankcase hose which was blocking it almost completely, Needless to say I had to start over , I have my ideas why someone would do this and my question is why do you on the forum think someone would do this and your ideas , Ed

Interesting timing - I just ready about this as an option to decrease vacuum pull for the PCV. I have no idea if it is effective. It seems quite arbitrary.

I changed the metering rod springs to the orange ones and left that plug out of the pcv hose , It runs very well and as not as rich at idle , A friend has a afr meter and I will try to visit him next week and maybe change the rods and jets. But for some one to almost cut off all vacuum to the pcv just seems silly and a good way to blow out seals and gaskets , Ed
