Hey guys,
I have been roughing in the doors, hood and trunk after final fit and adjustment of the body. I am just block sanding down the gaps rather than using my air tools cause my arm is much slower at taking off material than my DA. Just fine lining the gaps and everything is going well. Surprisingly the door fitment has not been bad at all and thanks to Jeff Kleiner's recommendation of slipping a 3/8 washer between the front lower door bolt and hinge and rocker panel adjustment I can get the DS door to get very close.
Now the trunk is a different issue. I am using the Kleiner mod for the rear quick jacks and can adjust the body but when I put the bulb seal on try to get the lid to line up, it is sitting proud on the front above the body. I have block sanded the lid and i have about a little over 1/8 " gap. The bulb seal does not seem to let the lid sit flush with the body. Is this something that will settle in or is it more of an adjustment of the hinge to pull the lid in tighter? Or do I need to get this down to the ¼" gap before it settles into the hole? Sorry for the noob question. I did some searching and came up empty with this scenario.
