When I was trying to figure out which overdrive to chose on my TKO-600, I made a spreadsheet to help me figure out what RPMs I will be at in each gear at different speeds. This also helped me decide which rear end ratio I wanted as well. Somebody else on the forum asked for my spreadsheet, so I figured I would make it more user-friendly and share it with everybody.
This spread sheet allows you to input different variables and then it auto calculates the speed or engine RPM for each gear.
These are the variables and calculations this spreadsheet does:
Input metric tire size. This allows you to see how different sizes changes speed and RPMS. This also shows you the diameter of the tire in inches.
Rear end gear ratio. This shows the effect on RPM and speed
Transmission gear ratios. This allows you to do different gear options for a 5 or 6 speed
Engine redline. It will show speed in each gear at redline and also flag what gear will be over the redline at a chosen speed.
Engine idle. It will show the speed in each gear at idle. It will also flag what gears will be below the engine idle at chosen speed
You can input a specific RPM and it will show speed in each gear
You can input a specific speed and it will show RPM in each gear.
I think it was a useful tool and it might help others. I put in the work so why not share the love?

This is a VIEW ONLY file on Google Docs. If you want to edit it, you have to download the spread sheet. Go to "File" then "Download" and it will give you an option for which format. I have verified that if you download as an *.xlsx it will work in Microsoft Office. I have also verified that downloading as an *.xlsx and then opening with Google Docs will also work.
