Does the factory oil pan on the LS engine work in the MK4? If not, which one do you recommend?

Thanks!

I am waiting for my Blueprint LS 427...They said the low profile pan they sell works. I can't be sure without seeing it in the car yet but based on their answers I have my fingers crossed!

I cant see any reason any car pan wouldnt fit fine except the batwing c5 pan might be an issue with the frame. Truck pans Im sure would be too deep. I located my engine as low as I could without making the bellhousing too deep below the rails, and I think I could fit a 5" deep pan and be flush to the bottom of the frame. If you are planning to track the car at all you definitely need something like the improved racing crank scraper and upgraded baffling.

I used this F-Body pan for my project. Keep in mind that was NOT a Factory 5 but there are many lowbuck options for oilpans other than Holley.

Thanks for that info. I’m still looking for a motor but I have my eye on a LS1 out of a 2003 corvette. I’ll just keep the stock pan until my kit arrives and I can check the fit then.

I used the Holley pan on mine. The ls1 corvette batwing pan certainly won’t fit.

I’m not sure what pan is on this motor, unless all corvettes came with batwing pans. Anyway, I’ll be ready to replace the pan once I know which one is on it.

Thanks again everyone.

97-04 (?) corvettes got the batwing. If you have an LS1 corvette engine with a stock oil pan it would be a batwing
