n00b question... wiring up my ignition switch, red, orange and blue are easy...
but the brown ACC and Alternator-IGN I have the question...
the RF Manual (Rev W) shows
152286
I'm installing the Gen3 Coyote with the M-8600-M50BALT Alternator Kit
unsure if the alternator is a 1-wire or 3-wire?
my assumption is 1-wire, but figured I'd check with the forums before I cover it up

No. The brown alternator wire is not needed for the Coyote alternator. That's an exciter wire used for one-wire alternators. Not needed for the Coyote's 6G alternator. I remove it completely. The control pack does have a connector that plugs into the alternator because it's actually controlled by the PCM. There have been discussions in other threads, including recommendation from a tech at Ford Performance, to leave the plug disconnected. That's another discussion. I personally leave it in. You will notice the Coyote alternator will show higher than you're probably used to charging voltages. 14+ volts on your gauge. It's normal in my experience and based on what I've heard from many others including Mustang owners.

Thanks Paul - always a fount of knowledge!!
Much appreciated, agreed it will charge higher due to the pulley difference from the regular Mustang alternator.
I'll keep the control pack info in mind, my Coyote should ship out Friday - getting close!
