We ordered our kit last October and it was delivered in Feb this year. We finally got the wooden steering wheel delivered today. Man, it looks really good. Plus, that means our POL is essentially complete!
Sadly, that means we won't be using vice grips to steer anymore. Good bye, vice grips. You will be missed...

Ha ha ha!
Every time somebody came over to see the build always commented on the vice grips. "You actually drive with that?"
"Why yes. Yes we do."

I just received my steering wheel as well and I agree with you that it looks better than I had anticipated it looking. A nice surprise. I picked up my kit in March and still do not have several items. The backordered item that baffles me the most is the dash pad.

I know, right? We still haven't gotten our dash pad, but I was able to pick one up from a member on the forum that didn't use theirs.
Worse comes to worse, you could always use linoleum..:p
