I have a couple of choices for mounting a Lokar transmission dipstick tube. A firewall mount or a transmission bell housing mount.
Unfortunately, our Coyote is sitting next to the truck (waiting on the torque converter to arrive) before I truly see how much room exists, I gather that the Coyote sits very close to the firewall.
Question: If I go with the transmission bell housing mount for the dipstick, will the firewall/cylinder bank clearance impede access to reach the dipstick?

Everyone's build is a bit different, so your question is difficult to answer. There are plenty of pictures of Coyote based builds, EdwardB is a good example, that should give you a reference as to how much room you have to play with. However, variations in where you mount the Coyote PDB, regulator, fuel lines, etc. prevent a hard answer. I am doing a non-Factory Five Coyote build in a vintage Mustang using the 6R80. I chose to buy the B&M dipstick for the 6R80. I found after receiving the dip stick, it is designed for the F150 trucks, not so much for the Mustang. The length of the dipstick is very long, but I found I can route it over the transmission bellhousing to the left side of the engine bay.
In your case, you can evaluate possible locations, but until you have the engine in the car with everything else mounted, a final location would just be a guess.
Agree with Alan, these are not cookie-cutter builds and your engine placement may be different enough that you really should test fit the engine/trans assembly before deciding. After around a dozen times I lost count how many times I had my engine / trans in and out of my hot rod. I can do it myself now in a couple of hours but it's still a PITA.
And, you may chose to locate your engine forward or rearward more than the FFR location. I moved my engine ~2" to the rear, just as close as I could get to the firewall and still have enough clearance. For mine, I found a dragster style bellhousing mounted dipstick worked best but YMMV so it's best to fit the engine and trans first.
