Well after 15 years of lurking/waiting, I'm finally expecting a Type 65 Coupe due to be complete in mid December. I'm planning a vintage-ish build. I'm a racing fan from way back when giants walked the earth. My idea of the perfect race car is the Porsche 917.
Here's what I got:
Compete kit with body cut outs
GPS gauges
Lowback vintage race seats
Power steering
3 link suspension
A/C kit
Black carpet
Side windows
Nose scoops
15" Halibrand wheels
Drivetrain:
1995 Ford 302 Roller cam from a Ford F150
Planning on bore and stroke to 347
Tremec TKX 5 speed transmission on order
Rear end 3.27 final drive
I'm planning on boring old Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White stripes. She's gonna be beautiful!
So, I'm a car guy with many years of wrenching, and I'm very excited about this project. I've most recently been reviving a 1977 Porsche 911S Targa with a 1982 SC 3.0 L engine in it. I've owned it for 15 years and have spent much of COVID bringing it back into shape.
So I look forward to hanging with you guys and learning from the group. I'll let you know as things come together.
