FYI, I had an e-mail discussion with FFR last week, my Roadster is supposed to be ready on 8/21 but there's at least a week delay on finishing the kit.
Just FYI, I'll update if I hear anything.

That's a bummer, Captb. Is the delay only your kit or is it across the board? Supply chain related? I emailed for an update on my POL list and they say it will probably be September before I get any shipments - approx 6-8 weeks after kit delivery. I know they are busting their tails working the issues but it sure is frustrating. Hopefully your kit will be a little more complete due to the delay. Good Luck!

Not sure on any of those questions. I understand the supply chain issues and I know they're working it. Hell I've waited this long I can wait a little longer. When did you get your delivery? Was it a huge POL list?

I took delivery on July 16 and my POL list was 2 pages long with key components from every major assembly missing. I have been limited to aluminum panel fitment for now. I was missing things like coil springs, spindles, calipers, fuel tank, steering wheel, pedal box, radiator, gauge set, tie rod ends, dash fabric, wheels, and many various smaller parts. about 50 -60 line items in total. Just doing what I can for now but I had ordered my eng/tranny package for a mid-late September timeframe thinking I would be ready for it by then but due to the POL list that's not going to happen! Work with what you got, right?! :p

You bet. I already have my engine/tranny but I don't see getting that in without a rolling chassis. Hopefully spindles come with the car, I think that one would slow me from a rolling chassis.

Rich - I took delivery of my complete kit July 10th and I have almost an identical POL as you do. I am working with Brent at FFR and he has updated me all items included on POL, which I am sure he would do for you.
It will be interesting to see how fast(?) they can complete the POL. I am so down to fitting some of the panels while waiting on key parts.

Yes he did! I emailed FFR about a week ago and Brent sent back a detailed list of my POL with expected dates...they try to send a decent shipment instead of piece by piece. Looks like most things are mid to late September at this point.

Yeah - some more critical items that we need will be late August or early September by my update. I do feel they are on top of every piece and part that is on the POL and working towards getting them to us ASAP. I may be missing something but I am moving forward with building the foot boxes and prepping (cutting) the heat/sound shield that I went with to fit all the aluminum panels making up the engine bay/foot boxes. Hang in there, it can only get better!

Soooooo here is my advice while you are waiting. (I'm not going to win a popularity contest with this one)..... I've been at this for 20 years and know for a fact that by the time you get elbows deep into the build the "little woman" starts handing you a list of things to do to even the score of you having a toy. I say start on the list now while you are waiting for parts. I know, the list will never end and always growing.......Kinda like the mask that does nothing but makes you feel proactive (WHOOPS)....That wasn't supposed to be out loud...da Bat
I know it's frustrating to spend all that money and not get everything delivered, especially after waiting for months in most cases. It sounds like you guys are approaching it with the right mindset and are working with FFR to understand what's happening. Looking at the bigger picture, I imagine this has to be killing Dave Smith, who obviously takes a lot of pride in serving his customers. I would wager that the disruption in supply lines is hitting his bottom line pretty significantly. I hope FFR is able to weather the storm so that they can continue to fulfill the dreams of guys like us for many years to come.

Got an update this a.m., another 1-2 weeks delay from FFR.
I'm good with that because we're moving in the next 3-4 weeks and the later the ship the better. But if you're waiting on a shipment now, it will be delayed.

It's too bad about the delay but I'm glad it worked out for you with the move and all....besides - it will give you more time to find/build that body buck and chassis dolly. :)

I took delivery of my kit a year ago August 20th and I had the two page list of POL parts, but most of my parts came within six to eight weeks and the only thing I waited for was the radiator for five months. So not to slow me up I bought a radiator from Rock Auto for a Mustang so I could run the car. My parts issue was before the real parts slow down came. I have compassion for both sides as I know Dave Smith ( who has built a phenominal company)probably looses sleep at night not being able to service his product, and all of the guys who paid their money to get their dream car, only to get stopped in your tracks because of no parts is like a kick in the gut. Hang in there guys, it's all worth it in the end.
