Does the gauge show voltage with the ignition off? Or the needle stay in last setting? I do have a low amp bypass for the Radio settings & ECU on the kill switch.

I believe the needle just stays at the last setting when in off position.

Depends on how you have it wired. Assuming it's to an ignition source wire (normal) it would not show voltage with the ignition off. Pretty typical to wire to the brown (RF harness) gauge feed which is an ignition circuit. If by some chance you wired to a battery circuit wire, it would indicate all the time.
Normal for Speedhut gauges to freeze at a random location when powered off.

Mine does the same thing. Turning the key back on without cranking it will put the needles back to zero.

Pretty sure I followed the directions that came with the gauges. Do have an RF harness.
Question. Before I drop the dash to check if its wired to a battery circuit will it drain the battery or can I just leave it as is?
Also will check RBachman suggestion to turn on ignition to see if it zeros.

Mine holds the last too. Then when you turn the key back on it goes down to zero before showing the current voltage.
If you are still concerned, before you pull the dash just put a draw on the system with the ignition off. For example, turn the headlights on. See if the gauge budges. I am guessing it will not. Then turn the key on (or ACC) and do the same. The needle should bounce a little with the headlights and key on.
Also, my gauge holds at whatever the alternator was changing at when I turn it off (around 16v) then when you turn the key back on but don't start it shows just the battery (around 12v). If yours is holding the higher voltage when the alternator isn't running then you know its not still "working" when off.

Thanks to all. The turn the key on, turn the key off zeroed it out. Will put the last dash screws in. :D
An annoying feature of the Speedhut gauges for those of us with OCD. I've gotten in the habit of turning the key to the ACC position briefly and then to off when shutting the car off just to have the needles all at zero.

I like that they stay at the last position. When the car sits for a couple weeks, I take a quick look to see what my fuel level is - getting old and the bad memory sucks!!

that's a cool feature IMHO, can always check the last state :)
