I recently discovered a really fun collection of model building kits from a company called Metal Earth. The kits come in a flat envelope with a set of flat metal sheets with all the parts. You remove the parts from the sheets and bend them per the instructions. The formed parts are then assembled via small tabs that are on the parts. I've completed two of the models so far. The Apollo Command Module and Lunar Module was pretty challenging and took about eight hours. The stagecoach was a little easier and took about five hours.

Dave, Nice work! The detail on those seems to be amazing. I would have almost thought that the stagecoach would have been more difficult, but then you start to look at the number of parts, and how they needed to be shaped on the Apollo model, and I can see why it was more challenging. I may have to check them out to have something to work on when I send the car off for paint.

Tools required:

1. Magnification (I borrowed a magnifying LED sewing lamp from my wife)
2. Straight cut, small cutter
3. Small, long, needle nose pliers (magnetic if possible)

Take your time and use the images of the completed model that they have on-line when the printed instructions aren't clear.

I made one of those models a few years ago. The one that I built was likely a different brand and not as nice as yours. To do it again today but I would need quite the magnifying glass! Yours look great!

Here is another model I did after finishing my car. I need to do a 1:1 scale Daytona!

Love the rocket!

I also built a Mercury Redstone, Mercury Atlas, and Gemini Titan in the same 1:144 scale as the Saturn V. I had no idea just how huge the Saturn was by comparison. Here is the Redstone and Saturn side-by-side:
