gauge backlight question

I have the speed hut / FFR classic gages and the backlighting has stopped working.
The red dial light still works/dims thru the headlight switch.
Could it be that the dimmer module has gone bad.
Looking for where to start tracking this problem down.

Likely. I’ve had a few of them fail on multiple builds.

Speed Hut sent me a new dimmer module at no charge. Can I just splice the power and light pigtail so I don't need to fish out all that wire from under the dash?

Yes. But as I recall the wire is extremely fine; you may have trouble getting a good crimp and be forced to solder.
