I began my FFR 33 hot rod by the book. But after getting to the running go-kart stage, I decided to toss out the manual. With lots of help and bad decisions, we got it to the stage where it now runs really well and looks like a rat rod, mad max racer kart. Didn't catch the entire process but some build pics are at this link: Mad Rat Rod Racer (https://photos.app.goo.gl/TKDq7ge2UGqT7Fwk9)

Ha! That's an interesting rear - do you autocross it? Been toying with rear aero ideas myself.

Nice to not have to worry about rear tires hitting the bodywork.

Nice to not have to worry about rear tires hitting the bodywork.

As well as not having to do all the body work to make it look like a show car.

WOW, just WOW!!

I was going to give you a hard time about only posting two pictures, but then I saw your link to your build pics.

What a cool idea, and great execution! It must have been a huge leap of faith to decide to change everything about the exterior of the car! I know I wouldn't have the courage to pull it off! Your creativity and craftsmanship really shine through!

Congratulations on a great build; go enjoy the heck out of it!!

Regards,

Steve

I love it. Great work. The beauty of the 33 is that you can take it in any direction you want. Love where you took it.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I have a ton to learn from all of you. I'm guessing you guys also never stop fiddling with the cars you've built. Seems like there is always something you want to change/improve on it right? For now, the plan for this is hoon it, break it, fix and repeat.

Yes. Hoon it, fix it, repeat.

Sounds about right

Indeed!! But that is the fun of it. It's not only the FFR kit cars though we have a bunch of classic mustangs and other toys that my wife just jokes with friends telling them she is not sure what I enjoy more....cruising around town in them or tinkering with them in the garage.
