View Full Version : for the Ron Francis Wiring Harness - do you remove the 3 'non-used' plugs?

do you guys generally just tuck these away or cut/remove them from the harness?

The flat connector is for hot rod only. If you're doing something other than a hot rod, you can cut it but be advised if there are 2 wires on 1 pin, you must make sure they are connected once cutting off the connector. The other 2 connectors go to the wire harness that goes to the front of the car. It does headlights, horn, sensors and fan.

Ah thanks! I misread that all 3 weren't needed - it's JUST the flat hot-rod connector that isn't used! whew! Thank you!

I just zip tied the hot rod connector out of the way. Some will strip the wires completely out of the loom to "diet" it. Also if you cut the wires, cut them at different lengths and tape the ends to prevent 2 of the wires from shorting out and causing electrical gremlins later.

IMHO, even if you cut them at different lengths you should still seal them off in some way. Electrical tape would be OK. I used double-walled adhesive-lined heat shrink on the end of every wire I cut.
