It's been a loooooong time since I posted, been enjoying the car too much since moving from Wisconsin to sunny Albuquerque. My original intent was a street-able road-coarse track car for Road America, Blackhawk Farms, Gingermann, etc.... Out here in NM we have Sandia Raceway so I'm going to start tracking the car, an MKIV with IRS, dual sway bars, Wilwood's all around, and a T56 Magnum.
I run 15" Halibrands and Cooper's for the street and want to keep those off the track. Is there a relatively cheap OEM mustang wheel that works at least OK for a track car? I'd like to keep the car square using the same size tire/wheel combo at each corner since this track eats up tires and rotating will be nice.
OEM bolt pattern is good, but what about offset? Do late model mustang's run same width front and rear? Any particular style to look for or stay away from? There are lots of mustangs out here with aftermarket wheels, so there must be lots of stock take-offs floating around.
My goal is to keep this as inexpensive as possible since I just don't know how much track time I'll get.

Thoughts?

you said you have knock-offs, nothing off a mustang is going to fit that

Clarification, I have FFR Halibrands with lugs. By saying 'knock-offs' I meant not 'real' Halibrands as opposed to knock off spinners. :)

Here is a wheel link that you may find what you are looking for:
https://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheel-Singles/make/Ford/model/Mustang/year/2004

Most guys playing on the auto-cross pads and limited open track days have good look with Nitto NT-01's.
A less aggressive all-around dry weather street tire choice would be the Nitto NT-05's.
The recommended tire sizes for 17" wheels would be:
255/40-17 (Front) and 315/35/-17 (Rear)

My vendor of choice is Discount Tire Direct with their link shown below:

I know nothing about offsets required for a roadster but I got a whole set of GT500 19x10 with tires (285/35r19) for $500 on Craigslist or may have been FB marketplace. You can’t beat that price for a track set. There are loads of mustang sets from cars who just bought something new..

Btw if you want measurements from my wheels, just ask.

You can get a 17" or 18" package from LMR that fits. They run mounted and balanced from $1100 - $1500 for a complete set delivered.

Roadracer, are you using the gt500 wheels and tires on a roadster? Do you have any pictures?

Update
Forgive me. I see now that your running them on a 33. Any chance you learned if they’ll fit a roadster?

Sorry no idea but if measurements help these are 19x10 (so 11” total width) with 7.25” offset. So hopefully you can do some measuring.

Maybe something like a set of American Racing 15” Torq Thrust Ds with a set of vintage-style Hoosier TD tires? The guys at Cobra Automotive run these wheels on their GT350s, they're strong and look good. I have them on my Daytona and will be ordering a set of the Hoosiers as soon as I have the paint on my car.
