I'm focused on the lower section between the seats, below a cubby

I've seen:

lots of battery cutoff switches (great for trunk battery setup) - won't use this because I'm using the Breeze battery box...

pretty cool - I've wondered about if I'd hit my elbow!

Hasn't been an issue for me.

Mine has changed a little with the year 5/6 do over some stuff I wanted to change based on usage. There are now a pair of dual marine grade USB ports between the stick & console. Small fire extinguisher which was on the transmission cover is now mounted vertically on the rear bulkhead.

No other changes to the transmission cover outside of leather boot.

I may redo my tunnel carpet. If I do, I need to come up with a way to insulate the cup holders. The aluminum hangs down into the tunnel and get HOT! I’ll likely need to go in from under the car and secure insulating material, but keeping it away from the driveshaft.

Using scrap pieces of the Eastwood sound deadener/heat shield I cut a circle for the bottom and a rectangle to wrap around the sides of my cup holders. It works pretty well.

I’ll have to check that out! Thanks!

Slide a cuzzy over it, put a zip tie on it and you will be able to remove them with less effort.

I built a console very similar to what RJD shared. The differences are that the cup holders are arranged front-to-back on the passenger side such that I've got good clearance for my elbow when shifting. It's also a hinged cover that opens with a small cubby under the console. The height of the console matches the height of my elbow when shifting so no interference there at all. It makes a nice arm rest as well. I built mine out of a hard-wood plywood as my skills were much more suited to that approach vs. the metal that RJD did. Had it professionally upholstered with black vinyl marine grade material.

I also have that rear cubby in the rear with hinged door just like RJD. It's got a little 3-tumbler lock on it if / when I might need to secure something.

I have nothing between the seats. I know, very boring, but that's where the dog sits!
