Have been a newsletter reader and a website watcher for a while, i really like the GTM but now that the 818 is coming around not sure which way i will go.
I'm in no hurry to start, by the time i am ready maybe the 818 will be ready.

So here goes my first question when will the first kit be ready to go?
Next question is Build school do i need it?

I'm pretty handy with tools and can trouble shoot just about anything electrical and mechanical.

I am currently in the middle of a 20' carolina boat build, which i have been working on for about to years.

So here comes my final question.

How long will it take me, by myself, to build a 818 in my garage?

Thank you and i look forward t your feedback..

Welcome! educated guess's say a year or so till kit ships, probably about 200 hours to build, you can build a boat , you can build a 818, we'll get you through any dificult times. Don't need the school....Steven

Thanks for the Feedback, only 200 hrs, that gives me motivation to get my current project done and out of the garage.

Having just returned from SEMA I (and most of the crew here) have some catching up to do... Still I saw your new post and figured I'd jump in here since I was born at the Naval Hospital in South Carolina and, more importantly can answer your post questions on the 818.

SEMA showed the huge interest in the car (818) and beyond the body shaping matters, we should be in production on the 818 this year coming (2012). We have alot to do on the car and yet IF we can muster the resources, I see this as possible. Too early to guess at hours, but like all FFR projects, we'll build on what we've already done so it is logical to see this car will be one of the best engineered, most build-able cars from us yet... 200 hours is well within reason here.

Welcome to the Forum. I'll be working thru my emails, stuff here at FFR and the follow-ups from SEMA for the rest of the week.

Welcome to the fun Leotis!! As Riptide said, if you can build a boat, you can build a Factory Five. Jump on in and hang aound here. The 818 will be here sooner than you think. In the mean time, post some pics of that boat.
