While working on the electrical for my MK4 I found an issue with my current setup as it deviates from RF directions. Hope someone here knows of a fix.

The build uses all FFR & RF components (fuse box, lights, indicators, etc). The only components that are not FFR or RF are the gauges (tach, speedo, etc.). The gauges on the build are Speedhut Revolution.

Question: The indicators for the turn and high beam power are suppose to be connected to the Vintage Speedo according to the RF directions, but I don't have that. This causes a slight issue with the indicators.

Current Setup for Ground:
- High beam & Left turn are in one end of a butt connector and the other end has the right turn & ground from RF.

Current Setup for Power:
- Each indicator has their own direct wire to RF correct wire.

Problem: This causes all the lights and indicators to work correctly except when I turn on the high beams the high beam indicator doesn't turn on. Both turn signals turn on.

Any suggestions of a fix?

I'm betting current is backfeeding through the ground circuit. Test by putting high beam on ground on it's own jumper to the frame, away from any other ground posts. If you're concerned about appearance, drill & tap the frame in an out-of-sight location; then wrap the jumper around an appropriate size screw. When you're done with the test, remove the screw & all that's left will be a small, threaded hole.

Just tested to separate the ground for the high beam. Result is the high beam indicator works correctly when on its own ground to the frame but the turn signal indicator causes both indicators to turn on and hazard causes the indicators to do nothing.

Continue separating the grounds; we'll get there.

Glad you got it figured out. Sorry I wasn't able to get you fixed up, but that's why this forum is so amazing. There is always someone who can solve the problem.

Couldn't agree more. This forum is the reason I'm actually going to get my build done.
