View Full Version : Rattling gas tank cover

I've noticed the gas tank cover is pretty noisy. Is there a go-to fix for that? I was just going to add some foam tape to take up some space.
Just be sure that the strap bolts are tight. That should keep the cover and the tank from moving around.

I believe Papa is correct. If the tank straps are sufficiently tight there should be no rattling of the cover or tank.

Did you see/do this? From the manual: At the locations on the tank where the tank straps come near the tank, use a pair of pliers and bend the bent parts (i.e. Weld seems)
flat. This is right before the instructions to attach the straps. This allows the straps to pull tight to the sides of the tank, and secure the cover.
