Good morning, everyone!

My name is Greg Branham, and I built an early MkIII back in 2005. I was very active on ffc*bra.com in those days, and learned a ton from my first build. In 2009-ish, I sold my FFR, and stepped away for awhile, when life (and kids) consumed all my time.

When I was active:

*There was no 818 kit, and no '33 kits!
*EFNFAST was wreaking havoc on the forum
*The Chicken Farmer was still alive and litigious
*The MkIII was the latest and greatest
*The Coyote engine was on the horizon, and folks were excited about it

Yeah, it's been awhile. In the years I've been away:

I developed a Corvette addiction, having been through a C6 Coupe, C6 Grand Sport, C7 Grand Sport, and most recently, a C7 Z06. I restored a Fox Body Mustang, got divorced, got remarried, bought and sold two houses, changed jobs, graduated a kid from high school, and helped her move into her first house with her boyfriend and her fur baby. Now, I'm 18 months away from being an empty-nester, and not yet 50 years old. Life is good!

Anyway, I just sold my C7 Z06, as values were going through the roof and didn't want to the bubble to burst and miss out. I've been pondering what to do next for a fun car, and my wife said "Why don't you build another car?". That shot through me like a lightning bolt, and all the memories of the build, the friendship on the forum, and the fun of driving these cars came rushing back. Now that I have a better budget, a bigger space to build, and have developed much better mechanic's skills, I'm excited to begin the journey again!

I know a lot has changed in the 12 years I've been away, and I'm looking forward to learning. Heck, I had to find this forum...I found ffcars.com, and recognized quite a few names there, as well as this forum...not sure where all the 'cool kids' hang out, but I figured I'd start here.

I'm leaning toward a MkIV Complete Kit, Coyote, IRS, and not sure what else...I'm envisioning building something that I could see Ford or Shelby building today as a modern interpretation on the vintage car. Not sure what that means, but the journey should be fun, and I'm sure I'll learn a lot from this community.

Thanks for having me back!

Greg

no '33 kits!

Wow, that is a long time ago :D

Well, here, duh! I see many people on both, but I found far more trolls on the other forum; David runs a tighter ship over here. I only remember a couple of notable trolls being kicked off in the last 10 years (DaveS53 anyone?)

Welcome back, it's still just as much fun as you remember.

Yes, sir, that's me. Good memory, Jeff. I think my car is still floating around Kansas City somewhere. It is Ford E4 Vermillion Red.

I remember your car. Stunning solid red. Richard Oben has it on his site still:

Yep, that's mine. Man, I look at pics of that car now, and there are so many things I would have done differently. I guess that's why they say your 2nd build is always better than your first.

Don't sell yourself short Greg, that's a good looking build!

But you're right; I went back to my first build for some re-do's after building my 2nd!
