ABS Textured Plastic For Door Striker Area Trim

As I work through my final punch list for graduation, I wanted to do something to clean up the door striker area.

I had some left over 1/16" ABS textured plastic so I made a template, cut out the profile, then used a heat gun to form the wrap-around edge.

Drilled a couple of holes into the framed and tapped them for 8-32 machine screws. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. If you're looking to do something similar, the textured ABS doesn't look bad (in my opinion) and it was easy to work with.

Nicely done. I haven't used abs but have used kydex which I am familiar w/ from making diy holsters. In case anyone else could use similar just search diy holster supplies. Kydex comes in 2 common thicknesses and skillions of colors.
