Bought an inflatable paint booth for my 818 and some other projects. Was so excited to test it out yesterday. Had it blown up by 8AM and started masking the truck up. By 10 AM the surface of the truck was 188F, it was only 97 outside. The clear plastic windows in them act like a greenhouse. Just an FYI for you guys.

The neighborhood kids will be so disappointed when they find out it’s not a bouncy house.

I bought a 33x16. Overkill for my 818, but was barely big enough for my long bed F150.
I did paint some with it at night. I love the clean room effect, but I will be converting from a pressured room to a vacuum room by getting an exhaust blower slightly bigger than my fresh air blower and making a snorkel to hook it up to the exhaust filters. That way it will evacuate the fumes and over spray better. With the pressurized room the clear coat creates quite a fog. Even if I spend $300 building an active exhaust to turn it into a vacuum booth I will still only be $1700 into it, which is pretty nice for what I have.

Great googly moogly that is HOT!! I am sure you figured it would be hotter than ambient air, but 188 degrees is nuts!
Glad you were able to use it at night. Also pleased to hear your positive thoughts on the booth itself. I think it is a very elegant and useful solution. Plus I figure it is a bit easier to get the wife's approval over buying a paint booth! ;-o)
Good luck with paint, and I look forward to seeing the results.

Steve

But think of the Vegetables & Creole Tomatoes that you can grow in it this winter.

It will be the fall, but I’m pretty good about following up, so I’ll post the results.
