For those reading, this is the Michigan SOS Vehicle Inspection form to be completed by a law enforcement officer before the title application. My experience (4 times) is it's entirely dependent on the officer doing the inspection. One time I had a squirt bottle in the cupholder in the cockpit and pointed to that when asked about washers. The officer wasn't too happy with it, but checked the box anyway. On another, he initially left the box blank. But when I asked and said the SOS office would deny me with the box unchecked, he went ahead and checked it. Even though I didn't have any washers. The other two times the officer never looked. Just checked all the boxes. Including the one time with my Coupe where I really do have actual functioning washers. I'd recommend the squirt bottle approach (I've heard others do the same thing) and see what your experience is.

Thanks Paul . I was thinking same thing about the squirt bottle. I guess luck of the draw on what inspector I get . Sure hope that person likes classic cars and hot rods
