Hello! Finally getting back into the swing of finishing my 818s build and I need some help. I can’t get the blinkers working at all. I have a iWire harness. Any advise on where to start in figuring out where the problem is? The harness was bench tested before it was shipped to me and everything was good. I have changed the flasher and don’t see any blown fuses. The headlights/high beam work off the stock control. Can’t figure it out.

Also, I have 2 connectors that I’m out sure about. Can someone tell me what they are for?

Thanks for all the help!!

Wirenut,
I can't tell for sure without knowing the color of each wire and the pin number it goes to.
I suspect the 8 pin goes to the hazard switch, causing you a blinker problem.
The smaller connector might be your brake switch.

Thanks Bob.

I think I figured out the first connector. It looks like it may be for the demobilizer. I guess I don’t need it because the car starts fine without it hooked up.

Here’s a few more pics of the second connector. It might be cruise or A/C. Not sure but I need neither of those.

It seems that I have the harness hooked up to the stock fully.

Any other ideas?

That second connector is the hazard switch as the colors match this drawing.

From what I remember, you have to have the hazard switch hooked up for the blinkers to work.

go to Mechie3 wiring guide to identify connectors.

Thanks! You guys are the best. Saved me a ton of time. Looks like I’m missing harness from the connector to the hazard switch.

Such a huge help. I’ll work on it and update this once I get it resolved or run into more problems.

Thanks again!

I don't think you're missing a harness. The connector you have goes straight into the back of the hazard switch.

Maybe you missing your hazard switch.

Agree with Bob - just plug in your hazard switch and your blinkers should work.

The other smaller plug I believe is for cruise control - I just zip tied mine out of the way, but I suppose you could also cut it off.

Cheers

Welp it looks like you guys are right. I don’t have a switch so, I just ordered one. I will report back when I get it in this week.

Thanks again for all the help.

Ok. I got the switch in last night and that fixed the problem. Thanks for all the help!

One more question. Are the rear blinkers supposed to flash the reverse lights white?

no, reverse your bulbs, they need a 180 in the connector (since it's shared between the turn signals and the reverse lights). If that doesn't fix it examine the sockets to make sure the connectors aren't shorting.

Agree, but I'm not sure you can just rotate the bulbs. When Brian built the Iwire harnesses he was not sure which wire went to which element of the bulbs. You will likely need to cut, reverse and reconnect the wires to the bulbs.
