View Full Version : MSRA Back to the 50’s
Drove to Minneapolis from Dallas Texas last week to attend the MSRA Back to the 50’s event at the Minneapolis State Fairgrounds. I have honestly rarely seen anything so awesome. Cruised for three days and did not see it all. Not sure what the head count was but it was well into the 20-30000 range with 11000 or better cars. Weather was beautiful, mild 70’s and Low 80’s. Rain on Sunday was a bummer but this show is a definite bucket list item. Series of Videos for your enjoyment. Item of interest. With my Holley EFI, computer controlled timing, 3000 CFM fan, wetter water, and Louvered side panels I was able to cruise these crowds for hours with absolutely not heat issues. Car stayed consistently between 185 and 195

That's pretty cool man! Looks like the biggest show I have ever seen with alot of great cars!
Hey, you mentioned a 3000 cfm fan you are using - do you recall the specific brand/ part number? I have only go karted mine but I can tell just from listening/feeling the air flow that the standard issue fan on mine is never going to pull enough air to keep this thing cool in the heat, especially with a/c. With the limited space available it would be great to buy the right one the first time that will fit and provide the required air flow. Thanks!

Any snobbishness about your "glass kitcar"? I haven't heard any yet, but I'd wonder about shows like that..

Away from home right now
Any snobbishness about your "glass kitcar"? I haven't heard many any yet, but I'd wonder about shows like that..I only get that from very young or old people that do not seem to have cars themselves. Never have gotten anything controversial or tacky in a show, though occasionally an inference comes up. Average is some twenty something making a comment like "it is only a kit car" to his girlfriend as they make their way back to their Civic. The tons of people I've met that build their own seem to really enjoy seeing how the car was put together, especially the body and interior work done by `121 Rod & Restoration. The car suspension appears to have been influenced by the Prowlers. You do get a lot of those comments too. I am particularly proud of the work Don Ross did fabricating the louvered side panels. But also about the stainless lined side panels 121 R&R produced. Sometimes things come out of left field. I have one particular antagonist on another forum who regularly attacks anything and everything I post. On the other hand I have built and run a 1250+ rwhp car that weighed 4,000 lbs and ran a best 9.2 @ 154 quarter mile. When I mention a third gear pull with a very fast car he makes cracks yea you must have passed it while trailering your car. All the maturity of a 15 year old, though I will admit I am not much better in the maturity department. My response is usually what the **** do you drive and it is usually I used to own a... or I am building a ...... (in his mind). I can now boast that I am going to visit a super builder (see the super builder shop in the vid below), to ensure his or her opinion is correctly appreciated.
