All

I'm just underway building my Type 65 Coupe. Using a Blueprint GM427LS and T56 trans. (IRS too with a really really short driveshaft)

Couple of questions for the experts:

- Are the LS engine mounts welded into the frame the same as the Ford engine mounts in the frame ? The look exactly the same as my MK4/Coyote mounts
- I received the same type of Energy engine mounts as I did with my Coyote. Are they also interchangeable ? I did receive a couple of adapter plates too.

We dropped the engine/trans in today to see how things fit. Seems like the engine needs to move forward about an inch as the back of the transmission mount does not line up with the mount plate.
Before we go any further I was hoping someone could answer my questions above so I at least know I have the correct parts.

Thanks for any help!

Haven't seen any LS/Coupe builds documented here. At least don't remember any. Sounds like a question for Factory Five. (1) Should have instructions for the LS adapters and installation. They do for an LS in a hot rod or truck. (2) Dan Golub specifically at Factory Five built a Coupe with an LS. Maybe try to contact him.

I have an LS based coupe, but didn't build it myself. If you need pics, let me know.

Thanks all. We're going to give it another try today. I think we may have had the transmission plate in reverse so that could buy us the couple of inches we need to get things aligned. Stay tuned...

Attempt #2 yields the same results. Looks like the transmission is still an inch too long for the transmission plate. Perhaps a new plate needs to be made that can handle the longer length of the T56. I'll see what factory five thinks

theres 2 active LS builds that I am aware of but we both did custom mount brackets on the chassis side. I'm running a LS3/TR6060 setup. I moved my mount brackets forward about 2 inches for clearance and it actually placed the shifter centered in the hole on the tunnel cover (amazingly enough). I wish I could be of more help but I didn't even know they had a LS mount option for the gen 3's when I ordered.

I'm working with Dan at FFR to see whats going on. Here's a link to the pics I sent him showing my mounts etc

I'll update this thread when I know more

I'm building an LS based Coupe as well: LINK (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?27874-LSx-Powered-Coupe-Build) I haven't had time to update in a while but it's made some progress. I need to get back on that thread.

When I ordered mine there was no option for LS anything. So I've fabricated everything on my own from mounts to headers. I've been curious to see how well the FFR LS mounts and components line up. I can't say I'm really in love with their headers but haven't seen them in person yet.

Thanks Nick

I've been reading your build thread. We had a transmission plate made up last week and it should be arriving in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed that it fits. Apart from that, everything else appears to fit at this point. Just bouncing around the build while we wait for missing parts to arrive.

The motor mounts bolt to an adapter plate, and the adapter plate is bolted to the block. if you turn the mounting plate around the other way it will change the position of the motor mount, it might gain you the inch you're looking for.

Thanks for the suggestion Bob. I also thought about that however the starter motor assembly is already very close to the back side of the passenger side engine mount welded into the frame. There's no way the engine can move forward at the moment. I'm still emailing FFR and BluePrint but from what I can see, i'm going to have to make the longer engine/trans assembly work somehow by building a new transmission mounting plate.

Resurrecting this thread. Curious to know how this was resolved. I am starting an LS + t56 coupe. What needs to be done to make it fit and are the headers worth purchasing with the kit?

Going to bump this thread too, interested in the LS/TR6060. I don’t mind franricating a trans plate. Mostly curious how the TR6060 shift linkage lines up.
